Dallas Collins graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 with a Masters Degree in Sculpture and specialized knowledge of foundry art practice.
His former career as an aircraft engineer has influenced his sculptural art practice for a number of years and his work has been featured in publications, exhibitions and major shows throughout the UK and abroad, with works in private and public art collections.
In 2007, Dallas was short listed for the Jerwood sculpture prize and in 2008 he was commissioned by Barratt Homes to produce a major new sculpture for their eco housing development near Bristol.
Currently, Dallas is involved with the Bloodhound SSC Landspeed Record Car, being built in Bristol by a team of engineers. The project is linked to a national government sponsored education programme to inspire young people towards a new enthusiasm for science and engineering.
The car will run in the desert of the Northern Cape of Africa in the summer of 2011.
